Art by our Family Artists
R. J. Bidwell (deceased)
Robert Bidwell is my former Father-in-law, and grandfather to all of our children. Mr. Bidwell lived to be 93 years of age, and was one of the nicest men I ever have known. He was a man of many talents. His first art career was as a commercial artist at Central Showprint, in Mason City, Iowa. There he designed and made engravings for posters of famous people like Lawrence Welk, Shirley Temple, and others; as well as for the Word's Fair in San Francisco. After retiring as a professional painter of commercial facilities, such as gas stations stores and sign painting, Robert took up drawing and painting as a hobby. Self taught, he produced and gave away most of his art to members of the family. These are a few of what we have been able to get photos of so far.
